The karaoke problem on iPhone

The App Store has two kinds of karaoke apps. Apps like StarMaker and Smule use their own song libraries — your playlists don't matter. Apple Music Sing works with your library but only for select songs, with no romanization and limited K-pop depth. Lyrical fills that gap. Your music, your library, your services, with karaoke-style lyrics that actually work.

Word-by-word highlighting

Traditional karaoke shows a line at a time. Lyrical highlights each individual word as it's sung. You know exactly where you are. You never get lost. The timing is precise, synchronized to within milliseconds. When the singer moves, the highlight moves with them.

Romanization for K-pop and J-pop

Singing along to Korean or Japanese songs requires knowing how to pronounce the words. Lyrical displays accurate romanization beneath the original script. You can sing along even if you don't read Hangul or kanji. The romanization follows official standards: Revised Romanization for Korean, Hepburn for Japanese.

Works with your existing library

Lyrical connects to Apple Music and Spotify. Your playlists, your liked songs, your albums — everything you already have. No rebuilding, no re-uploading, no separate cloud storage. You need Spotify Premium for full Spotify functionality.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lyrical have a recording feature?

No. Lyrical focuses on lyrics display, not recording. It's designed for singing along to your music, not creating shareable performances. For recording, use Voice Memos or a dedicated recording app alongside Lyrical.

Can I use it for karaoke parties?

Yes. Connect your iPhone to a TV or projector via AirPlay or HDMI adapter. The lyrics display large and clear. Pass the mic, pass the phone, sing together.

Does it work with instrumental tracks?

Lyrical syncs to the original recording. Instrumental or karaoke versions may not sync properly if the timing differs from the original. Use the original tracks for best results.

Is there a scoring system?

No. Lyrical doesn't judge your singing. It displays lyrics so you can sing along. No scores, no rankings, no pressure. Just you and the music.

Can I adjust the lyrics size?

Yes. Lyrical includes text size options in settings. Make the lyrics larger for distance viewing or smaller for more words on screen.

Does it work offline?

After first load, lyrics are cached. You can sing along without an internet connection as long as the lyrics have loaded once before.

What about non-K-pop songs?

Lyrical works with any song in the database, which includes most popular music worldwide. English, Spanish, French, and other languages are fully supported.

Is there an Android version?
